Eighty-two young graduates from the MRP Foundation’s Jumpstart Manufacturing Production Programme are beginning their 2015 on the right foot as they celebrate qualifying as multi-skilled machine operators.

The fresh graduates were part of a five-month manufacturing and job readiness programme and did their training at four of the Mr Price Group’s key strategic suppliers across KwaZulu-Natal: Distinctive Choice, Celrose Clothing, Smileys Footwear and Labora Shoes.

Not only does the manufacturing programme upskill unemployed matriculants but injects life into the local manufacturing sector. Out of the excited eighty-two graduates, seventy accepted employment offers and a handful are moving on to furthering their education elsewhere, an exciting start to their career!
