A multitude of talented local performers are set to take the stage for MRP Foundation’s celebration evening, Just Imagine, for an evening filled with music, dance and dramatic performances on Friday 31 August 2018. Directed by local theatre legend, Peter Court, the exciting show also features performances by young learners from MRP Foundation supported schools.

The fundraising event has drawn a host of local performers who have all generously offered their talents free of charge, with Anthony Stonier (singer); Bryan Hiles / Darren King / Rowan Bartlett (singers); Clare Mortimer (actor); Gill & Nicole (InterAct, actors/ dancers); Lyle Buxton (singer); Marion Louden (singer); Mthokozisi Zulu (actor); Pinkie Mtshali (singer); Samantha Landers (singer) and Shemual Mahabeer (musician), all joining the cast.

Apart from an inspiring evening of performances, live music and great food, guests will also be treated to performances from gifted learners from MRP Foundation Schools through a choir, physical theatre and a drama piece. The KwaDukuza schools involved are: Aldinville Senior Primary School, Kearsney Primary School, St Christopher’s Primary School, Nyakana Combined Primary School and Zulingesle Primary School.

As part of the holistic schools programme — which aims to create learning environments that benefit learners, educators and school management for schools from low-income communities —  learners and educators are also taught the Creative Arts. As the Creative Arts Implementation Partner for the MRP Foundation Schools Programme, Peter Court has been key in bringing the creative arts to life in the schools, igniting an interest in the arts and passing on his valuable know-how to the schools.

Peter is also the Director of the multi-media production and was inspired to title his first production for MRP Foundation, Just Imagine, after a world of possibilities that awaits.

“We’re going to be joined by some of the top theatre performers on the Durban stage, adding their own unique dash of showbiz pizzaz to an already glittering occasion. If we can imagine it, we can make it a reality.”
