YOU(th) are the future of our country. As South Africa celebrates Youth Month in June, we would like to celebrate YOU(th) as the leaders of the next generation.
The Mr Price Foundation is a youth development organisation empowering and upskilling young South Africans from low-income communities through its education and youth development programmes, which are aligned to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are No Poverty, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Youth Month represents the potential of our youth, and we are proud to be a part of their journeys of success.
According to the United Nation’s 2030 Youth Strategy, “the world today is home to the largest generation of young people in history, 1.8 billion. Close to 90 percent of them live in developing countries, where they constitute a large portion of the population.”
The 2030 Youth Strategy’s vision: A world in which the human rights of every young person are realised; that ensures every young person is empowered to achieve their full potential; and that recognises young people’s agency, resilience and their positive contributions as agents of change.
The Mr Price Foundation believes that every young person should be given an opportunity to reach their potential. It is through our purpose of enabling young people to reach this potential, that our vision of helping them break the cycle of poverty and inequality can be achieved.
We encourage the youth, especially those in the Mr Price Foundation’s EduRise School’s programme and in JumpStart, our skills development programme, to achieve their dreams. The sky is the limit, and the world is your opportunity to achieve what you believe!
