THE WAIT IS OVER! The JumpStart Challenge was launched on 27 February at 6am, by a group of 30 enthusiastic early birds from Manifest Yoga Studio/Goodthings Coffee.
The Durbanites kicked things off with a Zumba session, followed by a run along the uMhlanga promenade. It was a beautiful Monday morning – and a beautiful way to start the week. Every entry directly supports unemployed youth through Mr Price Foundation’s JumpStart skills development programme.
The virtual JumpStart Challenge is active until 5 March and a number of virtual activations are planned for the week. Join a group activation or do the JumpStart Challenge your own way, at your own pace or place.
You can also join the big physical JumpStart Challenge on 4 & 5 March at Holla Trails, in Sugar Rush Park, Ballito. Dolphin Coast Striders, East Coast Cycling and other prominent local clubs are supporting the JumpStart Challenge. It promises to be a fun-filled family event, which also serves as a training outing for more serious athletes.
The JumpStart Challenge is also launching the Glide & Ride Cup at Holla Trails on Saturday, 4 March. This mini ‘grand prix’ will see kids on balance bikes zooming around a safe pump track. It’s for children aged 2.5 to 4.5 years old, ensuring that the JumpStart Challenge 2023 offers something exciting for everyone, from professional athletes, to teams of colleagues and families with prams and dogs.
Entries close online for physical events at Holla Trails at midnight on 1 March – but you can still enter in person at Holla Trails before the events. Entries for the virtual JumpStart Challenge are open until midnight on 5 March.
