MRP Foundation is spreading goodwill to other nonprofits that invest in South Africa’s youth.
We care about other initiatives that help South Africa’s youth reach their full potential, that’s why part of our mandate includes giving to worthy causes around the country.
Rather than offering cash donations we grant products from Mr Price Group stores and last year we donated to over 100 organisations in the form of MRP, MRP Home, MRP Sport, Sheet Street and Miladys vouchers. This year has seen us once again practically extend our goodwill to many incredible nonprofits that instil a sense of hope and future into our youth.
It was with great happiness that we donated MRP HOME vouchers to Umduduzi, a nonprofit that provides hospice care for children. The dedicated team from Umduduzi were delighted to decorate their new play area at King Dinuzulu Hospital with colourful wall stickers, fun toys and large play mats for the floors. Children seeking specialised care travel from all over the province and a homey and loving hospital environment helps make their medical trip that much more comfortable.
The Sozo Foundation was excited to use their MRP vouchers to purchase clothing and school bags for youth from the impoverished Cape Flats of Vrground. Their holistic initiatives help the community to live with dignity, purpose and hope. What made this donation even more special is that the lucky ladies and gentlemen were given the fun opportunity to choose their purchases for themselves.
Just like the MRP Foundation, I Learn to Live believes that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. With that empowered mindset the nonprofit has assisted in establishing a community gym centre in Empangeni where youth can exercise in an inspiring environment. Thanks to a MRP SPORT voucher they were able to purchase sports equipment like weights, mats, balls and skipping ropes.
If you would like to help South Africa’s youth author their own future you can pledge a donation here.
