Your support enabled us to provide safety to learners part of our Schools Programme
Thanks to the support of the public and business, the MRP Foundation Mask Fundraising Campaign collected over 27,000 masks for learners who are part of the MRP Foundation Schools Programme.
In April this year, the MRP Foundation heeded President Cyril Ramaphosa’s call to action against the Covid-19 pandemic and set an ambitious goal to raise funds to purchase locally-made, reusable masks for all over 78,000 learners who are part of the MRP Foundation Schools Programme, which is a holistic education programme focusing on supporting school management and leadership, educator development, parent and community involvement and holistic learner development.
The Foundation called on Mr Price Group Associates, partners and the public to join the fundraising campaign. With generous donations from the likes of Gemelli Clothing, Yes Man, Expanda Sign, Home by MCA, Headgear, Maritzburg College, Fashionx Manufacturing and the SA Rugby Legends, to good samaritans from the public, the Foundation managed to collect and distribute over 27,000 masks. Although still short of the total masks we hoped to collect, we are proud to have distributed masks to most grades in all of our 98 schools, which are in low-income communities in Tongaat (20), Hammarsdale (20), QwaQwa (20), Soweto (20) and Mitchell’s Plain (18).
Once again, a big thank you to everyone who contributed, your support enabled us to provide safety to learners who are part of our Schools Programme.
